2 Kinds of Atheists
There are two kinds of atheists: 1) Those who believe there is nothing but matter and therefore no free will; 2) Those who believe there is free will. The first class we can dub “Scientific Atheists”. The second class we can call “Emotional Atheists.” While an oversimplification, let me point out the foundational flaw in each:
1. Scientific Atheists teach free will is an illusion. Everything is just a result of chemical reactions within the brain. Everything is determined by “matter” or “physical stuff”. The flaw here is they will try to convince you this is true; but if it is true then you have no free will to change your mind. If there is no God: 1) How can something come from nothing?
2. Emotional Atheists believe in free will. They differ in that their non-belief is based upon choice. When you encounter an atheist, ask them “What happened?” Usually it is bad experiences. But here are 2 problems – If there is no God: 1) How can non-matter (which is what free will is) come from matter?
Both of these believe in evolution – matter came from non-matter. If evolution is the improvement of mankind, then how did mankind evolve into believing there is a God? That means evolution evolves the brain into believing in something greater than evolution – God – and evolving into believing a lie. That means to an atheist, evolution is actually devolving into a lesser form. But then again, what choice do they have?
