Hebrews 1:2 – Last Days
The term last days is used in scripture to refer to this dispensation that started on the day of Pentecost and will end at the Second Coming (Acts 2:17; 1 Timothy 3:1; James 5:3; 1 Corinthians 10:11). At first, it might appear the Hebrew writer is using this phrase similarly, but that cannot be so. In the “last days” of which the writer refers, God is speaking directly through Jesus to “us.” This did not happen after Pentecost, but before and still today. Therefore the term here is used generically where “these last days” are compared and contrasted to a long ago.
