1 Corinthians 13:1-3 (Perryphrased) – If I speak eloquently, win every religious argument and shout down all heretics with sarcasm but do not have love, I am just an annoying noise. If I have all the answers, have dotted every “i” and crossed every “t,” and have the faith to drive long distances to attend gospel meetings and attend every church service, but do not have love, I am nothing. And if I write the biggest check every Sunday and for every special collection, and dress up in my “Sunday Best” to boast over your sandals and shorts, but do not have love, I gain nothing.
