2 Thessalonians 2:7 – An Application to Relationships
When someone chooses to cut us off from their life, or portions thereof, we get to choose whether we become a victim or whether they victimized themselves. We can choose to believe those who push us away are those who unknowingly need us. They chose to remove the restraint that protected them and their freedom is now their free-fall and downfall (2 These.2:7). They feel free, but falling is a liberation from protection. Therefore while we hurt, we hurt more for them. They accused us and left. Unknowingly they became their own victim.
