James 5:19-20 – Echoing God’s Redemption
James 5:19-20: “My brothers, if any among you strays from the truth, and someone turns him back, let him know that whoever turns a sinner from the error of his way will save his life from death and cover a multitude of sins” (HCSB).
Whether James had the following in mind, I don’t know; but his closing words remind me of another redemption story.
1. Adam and Eve strayed from the truth.
2. God turned them back from the error of their ways.
3. Spiritual death is removed as they received grace by having their sin covered through animal skins (blood sacrifice?).
Should we be surprised our redemptive actions echo God’s?
