John 1 – If a God Were To Become a Man
If a God were to become a man, what kind of a man would he become? The answer is so obvious. He would become the same type of man that he is as a God. This is seen in all the mythologies and the incarnation. So when we men strive to imitate our God, we either become a more powerful version of ourselves, insisting on on ways; or else we become a better version of ourselves insisting on serving the needs of others. The Christian incarnation is not only a better story, with more twists, it is a better life to imitate. Imagine, a God who can only die by becoming what he is not so others can become what they are not. Imagine this God so powerful he not only willingly dies, he allows himself to be killed so as to save those who murdered him. Why do they take this God’s life? Because they were more powerful versions of themselves. What a story.
