Luke 10:17-20 – A Greater Joy
Cool, awesome, literally out of this world. I can only imagine the euphoria of casting out demons, healing the sick, and other divinely oriented miracles.
Become the deaf and mute man, and imagine being instantly cured. Then jump to the other side of the miracle and pretend you’re the man performing the wonder. Who do you think shouted “Hallelujah” the loudest?! Can you imagine the joy each felt? Imagining is all we can do, such days of wonders have ceased.
Having such a gift, it would be nigh to impossible to forget who has the real power. Being blessed with such wondrous ability one could easily remember when, where, why, and how we received such joyous ability.
Luke 10:17-19 – (17) And the seventy returned with joy, saying, “Lord, even the demons are subject to us in Your name.” (18) And He said to them, “I was watching Satan fall from heaven like lightening. (19) “Behold, I have given you authority to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing will injure you”
And yet there is something even more joyous; even more cool, awesome and literally out of this world. I do not need to imagine the euphoria for I have experienced it firsthand. I pray I never loose the excitement.
Someone helped me become instantly cured spiritually. We both could equally shout “hallelujah.” The age of this wonder is not yet over.
I have this gift, as do others. I dare not forget it is not my power, but God’s.
Luke 10:20 – “Nevertheless do not rejoice in this, that the spirits are subject to you, but rejoice that your names are recorded in heaven.”
