Matthew 5-7 – Ten Reasons the Sermon on the Mount is Good News #2
“The gospel of the kingdom” means “the good news of the reign of God.” That the gospel is “good news” does not mean that everything in the gospel is what we want to hear. Jesus also preached “repent” which means we are sinners. But here is the point. The reason why the gospel is good news is because it brings solutions to our sins, not just condemnation. All the law did was:1) teach us what is sin (1 Tim.1:8-10); 2) to condemn us when we sin (1 Tim.1:8-10).

The gospel is not just about sin, it is about solutions. It is not just about us being sinners; it is about Jesus being the solution.
