Romans 1:20 – Ex Nihilo
In declaring the omnipotence of God, and the impotence of humans, Christian apologists often point out that God created everything out of nothing – ex nihilo. This is something humans cannot do. We always need a starting substance. God did, man cannot. Not to take away from the glory of ex nihilo, but God did start with something, or better, someone – Himself. All things were created out of and from that which exists in God. And because of that everything declares the existence of and characteristics of God (Ps.19; Rom.1). Such a beginning is far greater than the atheists who believe somehow and illogically something came from nothing; or the ones that grant such is impossible and claim life came from something lifeless. We believe in something grander. All things were created out of and from that which exists in God; and because of that, all things are meaningful, especially the life of others made in His image and those who partake of the divine nature.
