Ironies in Numbers 12

If you don’t think studying the Bible can be fun, consider the ironies found in Numbers 12:
1. Aaron and Miriam complain “Does the Lord speak only through Moses? Does He not also speak through us?” and then immediately after that, “And the Lord heard”. The irony is they claim God speaks through them, but if God had to hear them, then God was not speaking through them at that time.
2. Moses is the author of Numbers and unless another inspired scribe adds this, Moses writes about himself, “Moses was a very humble man, more so than any man on the face of the earth”. It takes either a very humble man to admit that, or one who is not humble at all.
3. Aaron and Miriam complain about the Cushite woman (who would be black), and God makes Miriam as white as leprosy.
4. Aaron and Miriam get exactly what they want, God to speak directly to them, which leads to them not getting what they want: Miriam leprosy; and Aaron sharing responsibility with her which makes him to blame for her condition since he is the high priest.
