Psalm 10:4 – NASB vs. HCSB vs. ESV
Psalms 10:4 (NASB) The wicked, in the haughtiness of his countenance, does not seek Him. All his thoughts are, “There is no God.”
Psalms 10:4 (HCSB) In all his scheming, the wicked arrogantly thinks: “There is no accountability, since God does not exist.”
Psalms 10:4 (ESV) In the pride of his face the wicked does not seek him; all his thoughts are, “There is no God.”
“Wicked according to the height of his nose” is the literal translation, which none of these versions use. The literal words though, show that it might be a universal trait of humanity that pride makes us lift up our heads and look down our nose, literally, at others.
