Math and God
I hate math. And I hate that I hate math. It’s not too fond of me either. Even I acknowledge it contains a logical beauty that is hard to ignore. And that brings me to my point – how could something so perfect be the result of chaos which is how evolution functions?
Math is so perfect because it is impossible to separate it from God.
1. Because there is one God, consisting of three Persons, math is as eternal as God. There has never been and never will be a time that 1,2,3 doesn’t exist.
2. Because there is no last number and neither is there a final digit for Pi – you can always add plus one – math is infinite; as is God.
3. Because math never contradicts itself and is perfectly consistent; we can see it as an absolute truth. That is a third connection to God.
Now I don’t know much of anything of the various types of math. While others took high math, school counselors suggested for me an extra lunch period. OK, I’m not that bad! But I don’t know the differences between math that uses base 10, base 12, or baseball. Well that last one I know. Although I hate math, just as nature declares the divine nature (Romans 1), I appreciate how math displays in its own unique way…”God”
