Why We Need More than “Love God”
If honoring, pleasing God, and being saved by God is as one-dimensional as some make it, the NT would have ended before anyone wrote the many epistles telling churches and Christians they were messing it up.
Yes, it is love, except we don’t know how to love so the Father instructs us.
Yes, it is faith, except we don’t know how to act in faith so Jesus shows us.
Yes, it is holiness, except we don’t know how to be holy so the Spirit lead us.
The gospels, epistles, and other inspired books are needed because isn’t it obvious we are sinners who mess up everything including following God? Even after all the instructions we are going to mess up, so imagine if God had left it all up to us to decide how?!
