3 Main Events
After God created everything out of nothing, there are 3 main events in the Old Testament are:
1. God calling out of chaos
2. God calling out of bondage
3. God calling out of exile.
The 3 results are:
1. God calling into purpose
2. God calling into freedom
3. God calling into home
If we look carefully, we don’t have to look to the Old Testament to see each in our own life.
“For God who said, “Let light shine out of darkness,” has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of God’s glory in the face of Jesus Christ.” (CSB’17 2 Corinthians 4:6)
“For freedom, Christ set us free. Stand firm then and don’t submit again to a yoke of slavery.” (CSB’17 Galatians 5:1)
“Dear friends, I urge you as strangers and exiles to abstain from sinful desires that wage war against the soul. Conduct yourselves honorably among the Gentiles, so that when they slander you as evildoers, they will observe your good works and will glorify God on the day he visits.” (CSB’17 1 Peter 2:11-12)
