A Serious Game
On the surface this is a fun game. Going deeper this is a hermeneutics lesson. But first, find 3 differences in these two pictures.
Now, these games actually make a good illustration of studying the Bible.
1. If our interpretation doesn’t match Jesus, it is not a perfect match.
2. If our interpretation makes Scripture contradict itself, then it is is not a perfect match.
3. If our lives contradict the Bible (and especially Jesus), then it is not a perfect match.
How to we find the 3 differences?
1. We trust we aren’t being tricked. Trust the source.
2. I personally have a strategy where I compare line by line, section by section. This is tedious. Work through the material.
3. At first, I only found one difference. More work, while trusting there were more, led to finding two. Then I got stuck. Others said there were three, so I kept looking. Don’t give up, you can succeed.
4. I found the third by I changing my perspective. I enlarged the picture. Sometimes you have to start with a fresh perspective.
