Are the 10 Commandments a Chiasm?

10 Commandments:

A – GOD DESIRES WHAT IS HIS (jealousy): 1-2 – Do not worship other Gods or make other images

B – WRONG USE OF TONGUE: Do not misuse God’s name (wrong use of tongue)

C – PURE: Keep the Sabbath holy

D – PROMISE OF LIFE: 5 – Honor your Parents

D’ – TAKING OF LIFE: 6 – Do not murder

C’ – DEFILED: Do not commit adultery (defile home), steal (Lev.6:1-2 stealing offends God)

B’ – WRONG USE OF TONGUE: Do not give false witness (wrong use of tongue)

A’ – DO NOT DESIRE WHAT IS NOT YOURS (lust): 10 – Do not covet
