Baptism is Perfect
Why is baptism the perfect culmination of believing, repenting, and confessing?
1. Would you be immersed in water if you were not commanded to (Mark 16:16)? Baptism is belief in action.
2. What is baptism? It is a death of one way as seen in being buried and a beginning of a new way (Colossians 2:12). Baptism is repentance in action.
3. Into whom are we baptized? It is into Jesus Christ (Acts 2:38). Baptism is a confession of Jesus.
As you can see, baptism is not just a good thing to do. Baptism is the perfect picture of everything we are to do. Baptism is believing. Baptism is repenting. Baptism is confessing. No wonder baptism is when God in his sovereignty decides that’s when he gives us the gift of grace. It is his perfect end and perfect beginning.
