Praying 1 Thessalonians 3:7 – How to Receive Stress Relief
1 Thessalonians 3:7 – How to Receive Stress Relief
PRAYER: God in heaven, I am too focused on myself at times, even when my suffering is in serving You. May I realize today that You provide stress relief by showing me Your faithful family in Jesus. Amen.
DEVOTIONAL: Do you have a story that sounds like this? You are under “distress” from outside forces beyond your control. This includes “affliction” consisting of these forces coercing unpleasant pressure. Does your story find you on the verge of being stressed out? That is Paul and his friends. But…looking outside of their outside pressures, and they find encouragement, comfort, and strength in others.
When our story includes hard times, whether for the Lord or physical ailments, and we are about to crack, look to others for their stories. Don’t give in to satanic jealousy or self-pity, but be thankful and joyful in the Lord. Let us all live Jesus’s story that allows others to receive stress-relief through us.
TEXT: “Therefore, brothers and sisters, in all our distress and affliction, we were encouraged about you through your faith.” (CSB’17 1 Thessalonians 3:7)
