1 Timothy 3:16 – The Mystery of Godliness is Great
Take Omnipotence, which is all-power. Take Omniscience, which is all-knowledge. Take Omnipresence, which is all-everywhere. Now take that Omnipotence, and place it in a helpless baby. Take that Omniscience, and put into the mind that will grow in knowledge. Take the Omnipresence, and place it in an animal’s manger. Take that Omnipotence, and hang it on the cross. Take that Omniscience, and let it pray if there is any way to let this cup pass. Take that Omnipresence, and let it hang between heaven and earth on the cross and then lay silently in a grave. No wonder Paul wrote, “And most certainly, the mystery of the godliness is great: He was manifested in the flesh, vindicated in the Spirit, seen by angels, preached among the nations believed on in the world, taken up in glory” (1 Timothy 3:16). All this was done because God took His Omnibenevolence, which is all-love, and gave it all, to all, so we could have all.
