2 Corinthians 1:15-2:4 – Why People Make & Believe False Accusations
2 Corinthians 1-2 has Paul being falsely accused as to why he canceled his trip to Corinth. His motives pure, the accusers said he was untrustworthy and too frivolous in his promise making. Innocent people are often accused wrongly because even if the accusers don’t believe the accusation, they want others too. People too easily believe what they want. Also, others often see altruistic actions as less than good because they see through their own baseness instead of through the blessedness living in others. People too easily see themselves in others. Remember this, we each make enough mistakes on our own; we don’t need anyone’s help in making up wrongs that aren’t true.
