John 2 – Water into Wine
Today most beers has less alcohol than most wines. In Bible times, most wines had less alcohol than “strong drink.” Do you know what today corresponds to strong drink as per alcohol? Beer. That is why the HCSB uses the word beer for strong drink. They are the same. Bible wines were watered down and not the wine of today. The best wine was fresh grape juice. Remember that when people accuse Jesus of giving drunk people more alcohol. Remember the alcoholics you have helped…if you have, drinking is quite different than in those clever commercials. I don’t want to drink. I don’t have to drink. I don’t need to drink.
