John 8:9 – A Surprising Good Example
One of the most hopeful verses in the NT occurs in the account of the woman caught in adultery. It is when the scribes and Pharisees walk out one by one (Jn.8:9). These enemies of Jesus who set out to trap Him responded righteously to His challenge that they search themselves. Walking out was them admitting their own sinfulness being equal to the adulteress. Even the most hardened enemy can be touched by God’s truth when they start by admitting their unworthiness. The Pharisees give me that hope.
