Was Junia An Apostle?

Was Junia An Apostle?
What does Romans 16:7 mean when it says concerning Junia, “who are of note among the apostles”? Was she a female apostle as some are loudly claiming today?
First, let’s consider the various ways it could be interpreted.
1) Junia was noteworthy among (i.e., one of) the apostles.
2) Junia was noteworthy among (i.e., in the view of) the apostles (she was respected).
3) Junia was noteworthy among those sent out (the base meaning of the Greek for apostle and used that way in the NT also).
4) Junia was a man’s name because sometimes men’s names ended with an “a” as in Aquila.
That’s four possible interpretations. Turn it around and we can see the meaning more clearly – The apostles took note of Junia.
If the passage meant Junia was an apostle in the sense of the 12, plus Matthias, plus Paul, then that is not following the example of Jesus.
1. Jesus chose the orginal 12. All males.
2. The example of the church when replacing Judas followed Jesus example and put up two men; and then the Lord (Jesus) chose another male in Matthias.
3. Paul is the last example who was chosen by Jesus and he too was male.
When choosing apostles, on 3 occasions, with 14 opportunities, Jesus chose men. Jesus is our example and no one treated women more correctly than Jesus. If not choosing women to be leaders in the church is misogynistic, then Jesus was wrong 14 times.
