Exodus 20; Deuteronomy 5 – The Ten Commandments for Christians
1. Thou shalt have no other gods before me, including sex, work and money which means stop being your own god!
2. Thou shalt not make any idols for yourself, whether fancy cars or clothes, whether fame or fortune, or thinking that I am with you just because of fancy church buildings or thinking a building is a more important than souls.
3. Thou shalt not take my name in vain by claiming what I have never claimed, by telling the world I am responsible for every disaster, by teaching what I never taught, by speaking where I am silent, and by calling yourself a Christian but living like the world.
4. Remember to give yourself a break and observed the Sabbath rest you have in Jesus by forgiving yourself, throwing away old emotional baggage, and letting Jesus carry your burdens.
5. Honor thy parents, because without them there is no you, because as imperfect as they are, they still love you, and the way you treat them is how your children will treat you.
6. Thou shalt not kill, whether by action, words, looks, attitude, or silence. Instead of killing your enemies destroy them by making them your friends or at least by treating them as friends.
7. Thou shalt not commit adultery, physically, emotional, in your mind, on your computer. Neither shall you encourage your mate to commit adultery by neglecting their needs both physically and emotionally.
8. Thou shalt not steal, whether property, or on taxes, when cashiers makes a mistake in your favor, or even steal time away from your bosses and family.
9. Thou shalt not lie about your neighbor through gossip, speak as to make yourself look better than them, or fault them falsely for the sake of financial gain.
10. Thou shalt not covet your neighbor’s house, family and possessions so that you neglect your own and forsake God by trying to keep up and surpass.
