Jeremiah 18:2 – Go, And Then I Will Explain Why
“Go, and then I will explain why” (Jeremiah 18:2 – PerryPhrase) I find this simple little verse emblematic of a faith-filled relationship with God. Jeremiah went, even though not knowing why. Jeremiah went, trusting God to keep His word to explain. Likewise, Abraham went to a land, but wasn’t told which land when he left. Abraham trusted God. Much of the Sermon on the Mount can’t be understood until after it is obeyed. This teaches what true faith is and does. Trust is not based upon understanding and agreeing with God’s ways; trust is based upon understanding and agreeing God’s way is best – even when Jesus says, “Farther along you’ll know all about it.
Farther along you’ll understand why. Cheer up my brother live in the sunshine. You’ll understand it all by and by.”
