How Do Sheep Defend Themselves?

How Do Sheep Defend Themselves?
If you research a sheep’s self-defense mechanism, it isn’t much: run (but they aren’t fast); head-butting (but they don’t have horns); threatening posture (but they can’t stand tall like a bear).
What isn’t mentioned as their self-defense mechanism is what is their most secure and powerful way of defending themselves. They have a shepherd. The shepherd protects. Apparently God created sheep with the need to be protected by a shepherd and not by their own power. Sheep are pretty much powerless against wolves, lions, bears and other predators. They need a shepherd. The shephard collects sheep into a flock also for their protection.
Do you see the parallels for us as sheep of the Great Shephard (Hebrews 13:20)?
