Matthew 5:43-48 – A PerryPhrase
A Perryphrase of Matthew 5:43-48 – 43) “You have heard that it was said, “Love those who politically and religiously agree with you and hate those who disagree.” 44) But I tell you, serve those who disagree with you religiously and politically and pray for those who argue with you, 45) so that you may be children of your Father in heaven (think how shamefully we treat God). For he causes his Son to shine on the evil to make them good (which hopefully includes you and them) and sends the Spirit on the unrighteous to make them righteous (which hopefully includes you and them). 46) For if you like those who agree with you politically and religiously, what reward will you have? Don’t even “them” do the same? 47) And if you greet only your brothers and sisters who agree with you against “them”, what are you doing out of the ordinary? Don’t even the “others” do the same? 48) Be like your heavenly Father by treating others the way He treats you – perfectly.
