Shooting Tips
I’ve taken up shooting and discovered easy ways to improve my accuracy. Maybe there are applications other than in shooting?
1. Stand right in front of the target about arms length. You’ll hit it every time.
Application? Studying only the basics, and never going deeper in the word of God will keep you from discovering if you are really a good student or just good at the basics.
2. Shoot then decide afterwards what the target is.
Application? Making the Bible match what we already want isn’t studying the Bible – its manipulating the Bible.
3. Don’t practice (or only practice what you are good at) and pretend you are good enough because there is no evidence to the contrary.
Application? If we never test ourselves, get uncomfortable, even make mistakes, we will never improve in our walk with God.
If any of these “hit” home, don’t “shoot” the messenger (1 Thessalonians 4:8)
