Spider Solitaire, Salvation, and Calvinism
Spider Solitaire is like Calvinism. The game gives you two choices: 1) “Random shuffle” which includes games impossible to win. You play without knowing if you can succeed. 2) “Winnable games” are those possible to win. You might not succeed, but going in you know the game is not stacked against you.
So, which theology do you want to believe in? Calvinism, which includes the impossibility of some ever having any opportunity to be saved. Or would you prefer knowing you can succeed in God’s grace by being “whoever” – “For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, what whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life” (John 3:16). Be a “whoever”!
