The Triumphant Entries of Jesus
The Triumphant Entries of Jesus.
When Jesus entered Jerusalem the Sunday before his crucifixion, it is often referred to as The Triumphant Entry. He proceeds to the temple, and cleanses it (Mt.21). Then leaves. Here he is triumphant over false expectations of his rule as king.
A second Triumphant Entry happened a week later, 3 days after his death. That’s when his spirit reentered his body and he exited out of the tomb, reentering the world again (Mt.27). Here Jesus is triumphant over death.
A third Triumphant Entry is told about in Hebrews 9. This is when Jesus entered into the real Tabernacle bringing his blood to cleanse heaven. Jesus displays he is triumphant over sin.
The fourth and final Triumph Entry will be when Jesus comes again, a second time, where as Philippians 2 says, “every knee will bow, and every mouth confess”. Jesus is triumphant over all!
This is our king. Triumphant!
