Considering how our society is de-evolving morally and religiously, could the United States become a mission field? Think through Christianity historically. It starts in the Middle East, in Jewish Jerusalem and moving to Gentile Antioch. Once thriving spiritual centers, they are no longer are strongholds, as Christianity almost disappeared. Rome became the center but Roman […]

Sometimes it is the simple that makes the most impact. Last night’s class we spoke on why repenting, confessing, and baptism is our believing response to the gospel. We repent because we believe the the gospel is Jesus dying for our sins. We confess because we believe the gospel is Jesus is the Son of […]

Perryism – “Hear God’s voice when you read, reflect on what you hear God’s voice say, love what God teaches you to believe, preach God’s voice with love, let people hear God’s voice through you.” Peter’s Phrasing – 1 Peter 4:11 (HCSB) (11) If anyone speaks, it should be as one who speaks God’s words; […]

1 John 2:1-3 (HCSB) (1) My little children, I am writing you these things so that you may not sin. But if anyone does sin, we have an advocate with the Father — Jesus Christ the Righteous One. (2) He Himself is the propitiation for our sins, and not only for ours, but also for those […]

To “adorn” means to “put in proper order” and then “to decorate.” “Adorning the gospel” (Ti 2.10) contextually appears to mean that we individuals teach (2.1,11,15) and live (2.2-10,11,14) in a way that makes the gospel appealing which means we teach and live the gospel showing it has life-altering meaning while waiting for a life-altering […]

In reading Ephesians, and specifically 2.11-16 I see re-creation (2.15) in reversing the creation of account. In Genesis man is one (Gn 1), then two (Gn 2), then divided by sin (Gn 3). In Ephesians we have the removal of division by law (2.15) of two groups (2.15) making one man (2.15).
