If Abbot and Costello asked Noah about his sons’ names:
A&C – What’s the name of your first son?
Noah – Name.
A&C – Yes, name?
Noah – Yes, Name.
A&C – What’s his name!
Noah – Name.
A&C – If you’re not going to tell us, what’s the name of your second son?
Noah – It’s Hot
A&C – We didn’t ask you about weather. What’s his name?
Noah – It’s been Hot since the day he was born.
A&C – We don’t know why you are changing the subject. How about your third son?
Noah – His name is Simple.
A&C – Oh, that’s good. What is it?
Noah – I told you, it’s Simple.
A&C – What do you say when you call him?
Noah – Oh, the answer to that is Simple.
[Shem means “name”; Ham means “hot”; Japheth’s name comes from a word which means “simple”. These meanings were based upon two different sources, and other meanings might be given by different sources. This little exercise hopefully shows Bible study can be educational and fun. This exercise was based upon Abbott and Costello’s “Who’s On First.”]
