What Should We Call Sermons?
Religious places are now offering “lectures” instead of sermons for special occasions. Plus, I’m guessing “Don’t get preachy” is a common feeling associated with “sermons”. But…I can’t ever remember liking have to sit down and listen to my parents “lecturing” me either! Can’t call these sessions “talks” either because who wants to hear, “We need to talk”. I’ve got it! Since we all have to take time out of our schedule, and the Bible often tells us what we are doing wrong, these lessons should be called “Time Outs”! And you’re not allowed to get out of time out until you’ve learned your lesson!
