An Atheist’s Creedal Formulation
Because atheism demands only a material reality, an appropriate creedal formulation for atheists according to Steve Kumar, is:
There is no God
There is no objective Truth
There is no ground for Reason
There are no absolute Morals
There is no ultimate Value
There is no ultimate Meaning
There is no eternal Hope
As I observe these separate credos, all stand together or all fall together because all are of the immaterial realm. Even that statement itself demonstrates the inadequacy of atheism for it demands epistemic proof as reason to believe; but how can nothingness produce reason, and if nothingness produced some kind of reasoning, how can we trust that reasoning to be reasonable if it is the result of random mutations?
Therefore, it is an appropriate creedal formulation for theists that:
Because there is a God
There is objective Truth
There is ground for Reason
There are absolute Morals
There is ultimate Value
There is ultimate Meaning
There is eternal Hope
One question I like to posit objectors is whether they want to live in a world that their philosophy creates?
They want to believe there is no God.
But they can’t believe there is no truth, or else atheism is not true. And yet they do.
But they can’t believe there is no reason, or else why are atheists trying to reason with theists to change their minds? And yet they try.
But they can’t believe there are no absolute morals, or else they corner themselves into admitting that Nazi Germany killing Jews, Gypsies, Homosexuals, Physically and Mentally Challenged were just a societal preferences. And yet they must.
But they can’t believe indivudal humans have value intrinsically but instead only have a right to live if they add value. And yet they suppose.
But they can’t believe there is no meaning, and yet they claim happiness and purpose give meaning. And so they pretend.
But they can’t believe there is no eternal hope, and yet their hope is to return the eternal nothingness they claim began their existence.
Everything exists “Because there is a God”.
