Ephesians 2:8-10 – Works – Before or After Salvation
Consider this: If baptism is considered a “work” and therefore can’t be part of our salvation (according to how some interpret Ephesians 2:8); then after salvation how can Christians be “His creation, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared ahead of time that we should walk in them” (Ephesians 2:10)? If we can’t “work” before being saved then how can we “work” after being saved? The point is not whether we are required to work; it is how we view our works. Are they commanded by God? Then work God’s commands. Are they powerful enough to save? No, we are saved by grace. We must work the works of God because He said so. To deny obedience is to deny God’s grace.
