Ephesians 1-2 – The Power of the Resurrection For Us
How we answer these two questions determines everything as to how to view our status with God: 1) Do you believe God resurrected Jesus from the dead?; 2) Do you believe God uses that same power currently in your life?
The first question is easier to believe for some, maybe most, of us who are believers. But notice Paul’s reasoning:
Ephesians 1:19) and what is the immeasurable greatness of His power to us who believe, according to the working of His vast strength. 20) He demonstrated this power in the Messiah by raising Him from the dead and seating Him at His right hand in the heavens (HCSB)
The same power that raised Jesus is at work in us! Now notice the similar language that described Jesus’ resurrection and ascension applied to us:
Ephesians 2:6) Together with Christ Jesus He also raised us up and seated us in the heavens (HCSB)
We need to believe and live this reality. Don’t let the problems of the world, this fleshly existence bring us down because we believers have been raised up to sit with Jesus. How was this done? It was by the same power that raised Jesus from the dead. Let us so live knowing we are seated in the heavens with Jesus.
