Six Days Six Hours
According to the scriptures, Jesus was crucified around 9:00 AM (“the third hour”; Mark 15:24-25); and died six hours later around 3:00 PM (“the ninth hour”; Matthew 27:45-46). While there are many coincidences in the Bible, there are also many providential, and type and anti-type acts. Which is this?
For six hours Jesus worked on the cross for our new creation; and in the 7th hour the Son of God rested because “it is finished” (John 19:30)
Reworking Gen 2:2 we have, “On the seventh (hour) God had completed his work that he had done, and he rested on the seventh (hour) from all his work that he had done.”
