First and Last Week
Why is the creation story, the first week, told the way it is? It is because of the last week of Jesus.
Beginning of Old Creation –
On the 6th day God breathed into man the breath of life and Adam lived (Genesis 2:7).
Beginning of New Creation –
On the 6th day The God/Man breathed out the breath of life and Jesus died (Mark 15:37).
Or to add more:
Beginning of Old Creation –
1. On 1st day there was light and day
2. On 6th day man breathed first and lived.
3. On 7th day God rested in “temple”
Beginning of New Creation –
1. On 6th day God/Man breathed his last and died
2. On 7th day God/Man rested in tomb
3. On 1st day God/Man was resurrected around light of day
These similarities are not coincidental and shows us old creation was what it was because of new creation. What was, was once again.
