The Curses and the Forbidden Fruit

People have gotten confused over the curses in Genesis 3. What do they have to do with eating forbidden fruit? The curses are not directly connected to their eating, but to their beginning, their creation. Notice how Adam’s curse is an almost perfect cursed mirror image of his creation. Genesis 3 is connected again to Genesis 2:
A – 2:7 – God creates man out of the dust and dirt.
B – 2:9 – God causes food to grow.
C – 2:15 – God puts man in the garden to work it and watch over it.
D – 2:16-17 – God forbids Adam from eating from the forbidden tree.
E – 2:18ff – God creates Eve.
E’ – 3:17 – Adam is condemned for “listening” (i.e. obeying) his wife)
D’ – 3:17 – Adam is condemned for eating of the forbidden tree.
C’,B’ – 3:17-18 – The ground is cursed, you will eat by means of painful labor.
A’ – 3:19 – You will return to the ground
