2 Chronicles 29-31 – Hezekiah – Restoration and Reform
In Hezekiah’s restoration movement, it is interesting and instructive to note that 2 Chronicles focuses on the outward aspects of Yahweh’s worship (what some call “religion”), while the book of Isaiah focuses on the inward (what some call “spirituality”). God’s word without our hearts is not worship. Our hearts without God’s word is not worship. True reform neglects neither and focuses on both. True reform includes both the form of God’s worship, and the form of God’s image.
