Two Stories: Same But Different
Ever notice the similarities between these two stories? Both stories have…
1. Two main characters plus God.
2. Animals and things grown from the ground.
3. God asks questions.
4. Someone gets tricked.
5. The older doesn’t protect the younger.
6. Death is a theme.
7. The ground is a theme.
8. Curse is a theme.
9. God shows the guilty grace.
10. The guilty are forced from their home.
11. The east of Eden.
In case you haven’t figured it out, the two stories are Adam and Eve (Gen.3), and Cain and Abel (Gen.4).
Often I say, God tells the same stories, teaches the same lessons, just with different people and settings. Our challenge is to find in the Bible our stories.
