Biblical truth standing on its spiritual head to get our eternal attention.

He, Me, and Thee

HE, ME, and THEE
“I’m not a good speaker”. Moses gave this “excuse before, during, and after his initial failed confrontations with Pharaoh. Moses had a “ME PROBLEM” – success and failure were dependent upon “ME”.
1. He expected success would be easy and quick.
2. He expected he could argue his way into Pharaoh changing his mind.
3. He concluded failure was his fault when it wasn’t failure – God’s time table is not man’s.
Today, as we consider our works and our congregations, do we have a “HE PROBLEM”? “HE”, is the preacher. When congregations grow, “HE” gets the credit. When congregations don’t grow, “HE” gets the blame. Don’t get me wrong, preachers can very much be in the wrong. Just don’t automatically think “HE” is at fault. And again, preachers can cause congregations to grow. However, do we want people (including the preacher) to think, “HE” is the reason?
God gives gifts of grace, including the ability to speak and influence. If “HE” or “ME” has this gift, success is God’s glory. Success is a “THEE SOLUTION”.
