An Old Story Made New Again

An Old Story Made New Again
Do you remember this true event? Deity descended resulting in fire, speaking, loud sounds, crowd reacting to the sounds, water, and a promise received?
This is the story of Israel at Mt. Sinai (Exodus 19), before crossing through the Jordan, to reach the Promised Land.
There is a belief among the Jews that the day Moses received God’s Law on Mt. Sinai was the same day later celebrated as the Feast of Ingathering.
Much later, the Day of Ingathering had another name – The Day if Pentecost.
On the Day of Pentecost in Acts 2, Deity descended resulting in the appearance of fire, speaking in tongues, loud sounds like the sound of wind, the crowd reacting to the sounds, water as in baptism, and a promise received for forgiveness of sins to those who went through water (Acts 2:38-39).
People today object to baptism being required for salvation. One reason the Jews did not object on the Day of Pentecost is because this was their story of receiving new revelation, going through the water, to receive God’s promise.
If this is God’s way, why are you objecting?
