No Trunk or Treat?
No Trunk or Treat?
Here is an old-fashioned religious thought that is still needed today – With so many churches having trunk or treat, why is the Millersville church of Christ not following along too?
First, I appreciate any and all who want to keep children safe.
Second (and this is where it becomes old-fashioned), the Holy Spirit inspired scripture speaks of churches engaged in worshipping God, studying the Bible, encouraging one another to be spiritually faithful, remembering Jesus in the Lord’s supper, and even taking up a contribution for needy saints and supporting spiritual work. There’s decisions announced about those needing spiritual changes, reports of mission field preaching, singing and praying. Basically, the Church is charged with four grace-filled ministries: reaching up to God in worship, reaching down to help needy saints, reaching in to build up spiritually, and reaching out to teach the lost. All these are spiritual.
So kids, stay safe and enjoy your candy. Find some good homes to get treats. If you need to stay saved, with God’s power, that’s what a church helps to do.
