Who is the Prey?
Satan is a roaring lion seeking someone to devour (1 Peter 5:8). So when the Spirit drove Jesus out to the Wilderness (Mark 1:12), to be tempted (Matthew 4:1), was Jesus Satan’s prey?
First John 3:8 says Jesus “came to destroy the works of Devil”. Included right be that thought, John writes, “the one who does sin is of the Devil”.
Considering Jesus defeated Satan from Wilderness to Garden, from Nazareth to Calvary, Jesus was not Satan’s prey. Jesus was there laying the trap that defeats Satan. We have that same weapon – “It is written”. When Satan comes hunting for you, set the trap!
