Becoming a 1st Generation Thinker
I am a 5th generation Christian. How does someone like myself watchfully retrain themselves to be a “1st Generation” disciple, trained by God’s word and not by tradition?
There are three types of Generational Believers:i
1. TRUTH SEEKERS: Those who are WILLING to Change their Thinking.
The challenge here is accepting truth even if it is new. Be willing to have your heart touched. You are faithful to God’s rule and rules.
Be an Apollos (Acts 18).
2. TREND FOLLOWERS: Those who are WANTING to Change their Thinking.
The challenge here is accepting “truth” because it is new. Don’t be wanting to have your ears tickled. You are faithful to current cultural trends within your religious bubble.
Don’t be a Zedekiah (1 Kings 22).
3. TRADITION FOLLOWERS: Those who UNWANTING and UNWILLING to change their Thinking.
The challenge here rejecting truth because it is new to you. You are faithful to past traditions within your religious bubble.
Don’t be a Judaizier (Galatians).
We are called to be disciples, students who think, followers of Truth, and not of Trends and Traditions.

Perrydox.com is devoted to the pursuit of truth, whether plain or paradoxical, whether simple or sublime, or simply absurd yet absolute.
