A – IS TAKEN: 1) For every high priest (archiereus), taken (lambano) from among (ek) men, is appointed for men in things pertaining to God (theos),
B – OFFER FOR SINS: that he may offer (prosphero) both gifts and sacrifices for sins (amartia):
C – CAN SYMPATHIZE: 2) who can (dunamai) bear gently with the ignorant and erring,
C’ – WHY CAN SYMPATHIZE: for that he himself also is compassed with weakness;
B’ – OFFER FOR SINS 3) and because of this is bound, as for the people, so also (kathos) for himself, to offer (prosphero) for sins (amartia).
A’- IS NOT TAKEN: 4) And no man takes (lambano) the honor unto himself (heautou), but when he is called of God (theos), even as (kathos) was Aaron.
