2 Kings 2:11-12 – Elijah’s Chariot? Maybe Not

Someone pointed out to me something I had never seen before and that is that we assume Elijah departed in a chariot. The text doesn’t actually say that (2 Kings 2:11-12). The text says a chariot of fire separated the two prophets and that Elijah went up to heaven in a whirlwind.
